The BritBuddy App

Moving to Britain can be exciting, but it can also be a little bewildering. One minute you're confidently speaking English, the next somebody asks if you "fancy a cuppa" and tells you they'll "give you a bell" later.

The BritBuddy App is being developed to help international students, visitors and newcomers make sense of life in Britain. Bringing together practical information, local knowledge and cultural insights, BritBuddy aims to make everyday life easier while helping people get more from their time here.

But BritBuddy is more than a practical guide.

Alongside travel information, local recommendations and useful resources, the app will explore the character of Britain itself — its traditions, customs, humour and the little things that often leave newcomers scratching their heads.

Language Builder

One of the planned features is the BritBuddy Language Builder.

British English is full of expressions, sayings and phrases that rarely appear in textbooks. From regional slang and everyday idioms to the subtle art of understanding what people actually mean, the Language Builder aims to help users feel more confident in real conversations and everyday situations.

BritBuddy is being built around a simple idea:

Life in Britain, made easier.
